Charging

We aim to enrich the curriculum with educational visits to places of interest, and by inviting professionals into school. Additionally we take children for swimming lessons to Hambleton Leisure Centre. These occasions are of particular value but can be expensive. We are not legally allowed to charge for them as they form part of the curriculum as a whole. We do ask for voluntary contributions to fund these experiences which could not otherwise take place. A parent's inability to pay does not stop a child taking part in the activity.

The school accepts the Local Authority policy statement on charges for school activities outlined in the Education Act 1988. It should be noted however, that if enough parents are unwilling to pay, certain activities may not be held.
